Summer Store Closure and Tariff Updates

Hey, all! Some big updates to share, including some that may impact existing orders.

Upcoming Seasonal Closure and Tariff Updates

Every summer I close my store to go on summer break (2/22 and 9/09 tend to be my favorite days to reopen!). This year's closure was especially important as this summer I'll be moving cities to start an MS program! As exciting as this change is, it'll also be eating up a lot of my time! 

Typically my summer closure comes a bit later in the season. However, currently in the US we are facing exponentially high tariffs. Unfortunately, in order to plan around the large and unexpected impact, I have to make several changes to my store stock--including preemptive measures to avoid coming in at a financial loss for some products. I do my best to price all my merch to be as affordable for fans as possible, but unfortunately this means my margins are too thin to comfortably avoid whatever financial losses will be caused by unforeseen expenses (especially on items that have minimum order quantities). Therefore, I'm closing for summer early and making some difficult updates to some of my items.

Below are the following impacts on my store stock:

• After my store closes, acrylic items will be discontinued indefinitely. Existing orders will be fulfilled and any extra stock I have leftover will be sold at a later date.
• Tote bag orders will be fulfilled and I will be switching to a local printer after I move. 
• Sweatshirt orders have been closed to give my local embroiderer time to fulfill existing orders. Since I do this locally and will be moving, I'm currently working out the future of sweatshirts! 
• Daft Punk plush are being ordered in bulk (to meet MOQ) and will continue to be sold! 
• The Daft Punk spinner pin will also be ordered in bulk (to meet MOQ) and will continue to be sold.
• The Justice plush have been delayed, as these follow more of a made-to-order system due to being a more niche plush. The production timeline for these plush will take a little longer, but these are still coming out! Please contact me to amend an order before then.
• Unfortunately, due to the large MOQ needed for pins and the increased cost of an enamel mold for new designs, the Justice/Daft Punk spinner pin release is being pushed back, and existing orders will be refunded. I unfortunately do not feel comfortable incurring the cost of a bulk order with the current state of things.
  • I would, however, like to debut this concept again in the future when I feel comfortable with listing it!
• Zines will be fulfilled as normal.

Those with Justice/Daft Punk pin orders will be contacted and refunded. I'm terribly sorry for the disappointment! These tariffs are truly unprecedented and I'm doing my best to fulfill all that I can while also being mindful of expenses (especially when pursuing a master's degree this fall) potentially taking my items into the red.

Since I'll be ordering Daft Punk plush and spinner pins in bulk early (rather than following my usual pay-to-produce model), I may temporarily open my store with just those two items sometime late-summer or early-fall prior to my usual 909 Day seasonal reopen (with a larger selection of items). Keep an eye out for that if this interests you! 

As mentioned, Interstella zines will be fulfilled as normal! Updates will be posted to the zine's socials.
